Watch Tri-Valley Youth Perform This Holiday Season In Pleasanton

Tri-Valley youth, ages 10 to 18, will take the stage next month in improv shows and a performance of Frozen.

TRI-VALLEY, CA — Local youth will take the stage in Pleasanton theaters next month to perform in seasonally themed improv and Disney's Frozen JR. shows. Performers will be from Bay Area teen improv group Creatures of Impulse and the Pleasanton Youth Theatre Company.

Holiday Shorts: A Long Winter's Tale

The Creatures of Impulse will kick off the month with a special preview performance of "Holiday Shorts: A Long Winter's Tale" on Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m., according to a City of Pleasanton press release. Shows will also take place on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m., and all will be held in downtown Pleasanton's Firehouse Arts Center Theater (4444 Railroad Ave.).

The 13 performers hail from Pleasanton's Foothill and Amador Valley High Schools, and Danville's Athenian School.

Every show is different, said Mark Duncanson, Creatures of Impulse director and City of Pleasanton recreation coordinator. Shows begin with a set of faced-paced games and scenes, such as "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" The audience votes to decide which scene or game will serve as inspiration for the remaining 20 to 30 minutes of the show, he said in the press release.

"When faced with danger, the two (very different!) sisters discover not only their hidden potential, but also the powerful bond of sisterhood," according to a City of Pleasanton press release. "With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is the ticket."
