Weather Advisory: Storms Could Bring More Than 3 Inches of Rain
Parts of the East Bay are already experiencing thunder and lightning. The storms will also bring high winds to the region this weekend.

Three storms may bring as much as 3 inches or more of rain to several locations in the Bay Area between today and early next week, National Weather Service officials said.
Today’s storm will be mild, as will the second expected to come through on Friday night into Saturday. The strongest storm will come through the region late Sunday and last until late Monday, according to the weather service. The coastal mountain ranges and the North Bay are expected to receive the most rain, with 3.58 inches expected in Bodega Bay, 3.68 inches expected in Santa Rosa and 3.72 inches expected in Half Moon Bay. San Francisco is expected to receive 2.03 inches and 2.22 inches is expected to fall in San Jose, weather service officials said.
East Bay inland locations are expected to get less rainfall. The forecast for Livermore is for 1.93 inches while Antioch is expected to receive 1.68 inches. The storms will also bring wind to the region, with gusty southerly winds expected starting late Sunday afternoon and lasting through the evening, according to the weather service.

Urban areas could get winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of over 30 mph. Higher elevations may receive gusts of more than 40 mph.
