Would You Take a Shuttle to the Top of Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park?
The shuttle service to take people to the top of the park will start May 4.

Is hiking to the top of Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park a little too challenging for you? Well, soon you will be able to get to the top with a lot less effort — just take the shuttle.
Three days a week, a shuttle van testing this new program will make three trips carrying people to the top of the ridge. The service is planned to start May 4 and will cost $10 for East Bay residents and $12 for others, the Contra Costa Times reports.

Carol Severin, a regional park board member from Castro Valley, told the Times why she has pushed for the shuttle:
The whole idea is about providing public access to park areas that are too difficult for many people to reach.

We have spent a lot of time and money to acquire and improve the park so people can appreciate its beautiful views and trails...What good is it if people can't use it?
After taking the ride up, hikers will have the option of taking a 4.6 or a 9.2 mile hike back.
The East Bay Regional Park District will have a pilot program for three weeks to gauge interest in the program.
