Award-Winning Peninsula Library Program Aims To Combat Hate
The event is being held as part of United Against Hate Week.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — An award-winning Redwood City Public Library program that endeavors to confront societal divisions will return next month.
The “Human Library” will be held online Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration is required for the event, during which visitors can check out human “books” to read through one-on-one 20-minute conversations through Zoom.

“The aim of the Human Library is to foster conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices,” a news release announcing the event said.

The Redwood City Public Library in June was awarded by the city its 19th Welcoming Star.
The following “Books” will be available for conversations at this event:
- Muslim
- Police Officer
- Autistic
- PTSD
- The Activist
- Undocumented/Dreamer
- Recovering Alcoholic
- Civil Rights Activist
