Man Arrested In Peninsula On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder

The suspect is accused of stabbing the victim with a large kitchen knife in the lower back on a sidewalk.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in San Bruno on Wednesday.

The suspect, a 26-year-old male from South San Francisco — who was not named by the San Bruno Police Department — is accused of stabbing the victim with a large kitchen knife in the lower back near the intersection of West San Bruno Avenue and Huntington Avenue and then fleeing on foot. The suspect had broken the window of a passing vehicle moments earlier, according to police.

Police located the suspect, who was still in possession of the knife, about a quarter mile from the scene of the stabbing and arrested him using de-escalation techniques.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was charged with attempted murder, brandishing a weapon and vandalism and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
