Police asked drivers to avoid the area near Ninth and South Railroad Avenues Saturday due to a fallen tree.

SAN MATEO, CA — Motorists are asked to avoid the area of Ninth and South Railroad avenues due to a fallen tree, the San Mateo Police Department said in an alert Saturday morning.

Ninth Avenue is closed between Claremont and South B streets until about 11:30 a.m., police said in the alert, sent about 8:45 a.m.
