Famed Acrobats, Hypnotist, Harmonizers Set for San Mateo Fair

Acrobats will be hoop diving, sisters will be harmonizing and volunteers will be hypnotized at the San Mateo County Fair in June.

From San Mateo County Fair: Acrobats will be hoop diving, sisters will be harmonizing and volunteers will be hypnotized at the San Mateo County Fair in June. Four stages of free entertainment are one of the highlights of the 2018 San Mateo County Fair, which runs June 9 through 17. In addition to the artists already announced for the fair’s annual concert series in Fiesta Hall, dozens of other demonstrations of talent will perform on the outdoor stages throughout the fairgrounds.

Highlights of the dozens of acts booked, include the Acrobats of Hebei China, Kelly Karl Hypnosis and the T-Sisters. All these shows are included with the price of fair admission. Discounted admission and unlimited carnival ride wristbands are on sale now at sanmateocountyfair.com or at the fair office, 2495 S. Delaware Street in San Mateo.

“It’s hard to stroll more than 50 yards and not find great entertainment at the San Mateo County Fair,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Event Center and Fair. “The fair is a blend of our community’s rich talents with talent from around the world.” T Sisters Born and raised in California and now based in the creative hub of Oakland, the T Sisters embody harmony. Erika, Rachel and Chloe have been singing and writing music together since their childhood.

The three sisters’ inventive songwriting is supported by their own acoustic instrumentalization as well as an upright bass, mandolin/guitar and drums. The sound of this sextet represents a continuum of music, from traditional to pop influences and moments of breathtaking a cappella to swells of energetic indie Americana.(Wednesday, June 13, 6:30 and 9 p.m. / Blues & Brews Coors Light Stage) Acrobats of Hebei ChinaThe Acrobats of Hebei China must-see production that combines Chinese traditions, incredible acrobatics, stunning costumes, Chinese props and beautiful music. Ranging in ages from 19 to 25 and trained from childhood in acrobatics, they are marvels of the human mind and body.

Their fast-paced and exciting show features hoop diving, chair staking, plate spinning, contortion, juggling, the traditional lion dance, and even Wushu, Chinese traditional group gymnastics.(Daily at 12:30, 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. / Plaza Stage) Kelly Karl HypnosisKelly is a certified hypnotherapist, a comedy hypnotist, corporate entertainer, actress, and singer. She brings her special brand of hypnosis to audiences all over the world. Her shows feature audience involvement at every level as she shares her head-spinning and mind-boggling hypnotic experiences. Kelly welcomes her audiences of all ages into the zany world of hypnosis, a journey to the center of your mind.
