Hwy 84 Closure, Flooding, 57 MPH Wind Gust, Downed Trees in Roads: Peninsula Storm Damage Latest
BREAKING: Here is some of the damage that's been reported around San Mateo County in the last 24 hours.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Downed trees, flooding across roadways and mud and debris scattered throughout the region have kept emergency workers busy over the past 24 hours on the Peninsula.
Among the chaos, a fallen tree was blocking state Highway 84 near Woodside Wednesday morning, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's officials issued an alert at 6:15 a.m. about the closure of Highway 84 in both directions west of state Highway 35 in the Sky Londa area.
On Tuesday, strong winds were recorded in the region — including a 57 mph gust at Spring Valley Raws, according to the National Weather Service. Here are other gusts that were recorded in the area:

All of San Bruno ave is open. Please drive safe
Wednesday 6:02 a.m.:
***TRAFFIC ALERT***West Bayshore Blvd from Woodland Ave to Channing St is closed in both direction. This is the bridge that runs for East Palo Alto to Palo Alto. Public Works and the Police Department are on scene and has no estimated time the roadway will reopen.OES 15
Wednesday 6:01 a.m.:
La Honda Rd between Skyline and Woodside Rd is now clear and open in both directions. Please drive safe.
Wednesday 5:30 a.m.:
La Honda Rd is still closed in both directions between Skywood Way and Grandview Dr in Woodisde. PG&E crews are on scene and have made significant progress. The estimated time for the opening of the roadway is still unknown. Please use Kings Mountain Rd or Old La Honda Rd as an alternate route. An update will be sent out with further information once a time frame is known
Tuesday 9:19 p.m.:
The flooding at San Bruno ave and the tracks has subsided. And this portion of San Bruno ave is openWB San Bruno ave from Princeton dr to upper Crestmoor will remain closed until work crews can stabilize the hill side and remove the mud
Tuesday 8:53 p.m.:
Traffic has been rerouted around the area both west and eastbound San Bruno ave at the Caltrain railroad tracks due to flooding.Westbound San Bruno ave is closed at Crestmoor dr (just west of I280) due to a small landslide blocking a lane of traffic. Please use alternate routes
Tuesday 8:05 p.m.:
Use caution on Kings Mountain Rd between Entrance Way and Skyline. Trees / rocks / mud in the roadway. Crews have been dispatched to the scene to help clearing the roadway. Use alternate routes if possible, such as SR-92 and Old La Honda Rd.
Tuesday 5:59 p.m.:
Highway 84 west of Woodside is closed due to a downed tree between Grandview Drive and Skywood Way. The road is blocked in both directions. Please use alternate routes. Update to follow as soon as road is cleared. Please drive safely!
Tuesday 5:03 p.m.:
A large tree fell a short time ago that involved a power line. The POWER IS OFF to this area and residents are asked to stay in their homes until the tree can be removed. The tree is blocking Woodside residents from getting in or out:From 710 Patrol to 890 Patrol, all of Pinto and all of Roan. An all clear will be sent when access is clear. Thank you.
Rain totals for the Bay Area suggest that more than a foot of rain has fallen in some areas in the last week. On the Peninsula, rain totals ranged between 5 inches and 11.68 inches.
