Minimum Wage Workers Could Soon See Raises in San Mateo

The City Council voted Monday night to increase the minimum wage to $12 per hour beginning January.

San Mateo, CA -- The City Council voted Monday night to increase the minimum wage to $12 per hour beginning January.

The ordinance, if adopted during a second reading, would further increase the minimum wage until it hits $15 an hour in 2019, according to The Daily Journal.

According to The Daily Journal, nonprofits would receive a yearlong deferral.
