A possible mountain lion sighting was reported east of Half Moon Bay on Thursday evening, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
The sighting was reported around 7:50 p.m. in the 11000 block of San Mateo Road by a caller who said she had seen a mountain lion running away toward the hills, sheriff's officials said.
A search of the area was conducted but a mountain lion was not located.
