Peninsula Peacocks Find A New Home

A Stockton woman adopted the four abandoned peacocks that were being housed by the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA.

SAN MATEO, CA — Remember the two pairs of peacocks that were being housed by the Peninsulsa Humane Society and SPCA, in need of a new home?

KTVU reported the good news Friday morning: a woman from Stockton adopted the four peafowl.

The birds' new owner lives on a large property and is an "experienced peacock owner," Humane Society spokesperson Buffy Martin Tarbox told KTVU.

"When we say adopt don't shop, that applies to not just cats and dogs, but even peacocks!" the Humane Society wrote on Facebook.
