Deputy Injured, Suspect Dead Following Millbrae Incident
The suspect was apparently running in and out of traffic when a deputy contacted him.

MILLBRAE, CA -- A suspect died and a deputy was injured Wednesday afternoon following an incident in Millbrae. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said the incident began around 1 p.m. in the 1300 block of El Camino Real.
The suspect was apparently running in and out of traffic when a deputy contacted him. The suspect allegedly assaulted the suspect, prompting the deputy to radio for assistance, sheriff's officials said.
The deputy was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The suspect was also transported to a hospital where he died for unknown reasons, sheriff's officials said.

The San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office and San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will be handling investigation of this incident.
The incident did not involve gunfire, sheriff's officials said.
