Police Investigate Fatal Shooting At San Mateo School
A 19-year-old died in a shooting in the parking lot of an adult school, but San Mateo police said the incident wasn't related to the campus.
SAN MATEO, CA — A 19-year-old was killed in a shooting at the San Mateo Adult School just before 9 a.m. on Friday night, police said.
The man was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car in the lot of the campus on Poplar Avenue when the incident occurred, the San Mateo Police Department said in a statement.
"Detectives learned this incident was not associated or related to any activity or event at The San Mateo Adult School or San Mateo High School," San Mateo police said in a statement.

The man was shot in the abdomen and succumbed to his injuries, police said. After the gunfire ended, a group fled the scene on foot, witnesses told police.
