San Mateo City Council: Election Results 2020

San Mateo voters have cast their ballots for two open seats on the City Council.

SAN MATEO, CA —Incumbents Diane Papan and Amourence Lee led in the "semi-official" results of the San Mateo City Council race as of Wednesday morning according to San Mateo County elections officials.

The Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder and Chief Elections Officer said in a statement on its website that the results as of 1:22 a.m. are not final, and that it expects to report its next update Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

"There are still many ballots to count," the statement said.

Papan led a field of three candidates competing for two seats with 19,422 votes (39.85 percent) and Lee garnered 16,866 votes. Library Board Trustee Lisa Diaz Nash is in third place (12,450).
