San Mateo Co. Sheriff Arrests Four During DUI Checkpoint Monday

The sheriff's office screened 732 vehicles during the Memorial Day checkpoint and conducted 26 field sobriety tests.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office made four arrests on Monday during a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. at the 600-700 blocks of El Camino Real in San Carlos.

Two drivers were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, one driver was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana and one driver was arrested and released after being cited for possession of a controlled substance.

The sheriff’s office screened 732 vehicles during the Memorial Day checkpoint and conducted 26 field sobriety tests. Twenty-seven drivers were cited for driving without a license.
