San Mateo County City Council, Mayoral Races 2020 Live Updates
Voters have cast their ballots in city council and mayoral races throughout San Mateo County.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Elections officials early Wednesday released"semi-official" results for San Mateo County's elections.
The Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder and Chief Elections Officer said in a statement on its website that the results as of 1:22 a.m. are not final, and that it expects to report its next update Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
"There are still many ballots to count," the statement said. "Vote by Mail ballots that were received on Thursday, October 29 to Election Day and the days following have not been counted yet. This means that the election night results may be significantly different from the final count."

San Mateo City Council
Incumbents Diane Papan led a field of three candidates competing for two seats with 19,422 votes (39.85 percent). Fellow incumbent Amourence Lee was second with 16,866 votes and library Board Trustee Lisa Diaz Nash was in third place (12,450).
Redwood City City Council
Construction manager Jeff Gee led a field of two candidates competing for one seat in District 1 City Council race.
Gee led with 2,573 votes (63.97 percent) in a two-way race against community volunteer Nancy Radcliffe (1,449).
Caregiver/teacher Lissette Espinoza-Garnica has a razor-thin lead in District 3 City Council race.
Espinosa-Garcia leads a field of three candidates vying for one seat with 763 votes (39.19 percent). She leads incumbent Janet Borgens, who is in second place, by 17 votes.
Public health professional Isabella Chu (438) is in third place.
Incumbent Alicia Aguirre led a field of three candidates vying for one seat on the the District 7 City Council with 2,337 votes (50.49 percent). She leads police officer Chris Rasmussen (1,762) and nonprofit program facilitator Mark Wolohan (530).
Pacifica City Council
Incumbent Sue Vaterlaus led the two-person District 1 race with 1,192 votes (52.26 percent). Mayra Espinosa was in second place (1,089).
In the District 4 race food clerk Tygarjas Twyrls Bigstyck had a narrow lead with 1,334 votes (38.53 percent). He led software engineer Mike Cohen (1,258) and salesperson/business manager Marj Davis (870).
San Bruno Mayor
Incumbent Rico E. Medina led the race with 7,661 votes (60.23 percent) against incumbent councilmember Linda Mason (5,059).
South San Francisco City Council
Environmentalist/biological researcher James Coleman held a razor lead over incumbent Richard Garbarino in the District 4 race.
Coleman had 2,273 votes (50.13 percent) giving him a 12-vote lead over Garbarino (2,261).
San Carlos City Council
Business owner Ron Collins led a field of four candidates vying for two seats with 7,469 votes (35.48 percent). Planning Commissioner John Dugan was in second place with 6,385 votes.
The other candidates are education advocate JT Eden and business executive David B. Tom.
Belmont City Council
Incumbent Davina Hurt led a field of four candidates vying for two seats with 6,662 votes.
Fellow incumbent Tom McCune was in second place (4,7400).
The other candidates are firefighter Ken Loo and Pat Cuviello.
