San Mateo Gets New Mayor After Annual City Council Reorganization
San Mateo's annual City Council reorganization has taken place, and the Council has chosen a new mayor and vice mayor.
SAN MATEO, CA -- The city has a new mayor and vice mayor.
On Monday, Dec. 2, the annual City Council reorganization took place, and Councilman Joe Goethals was chosen as Mayor for 2020, and Eric Rodriguez was named Deputy Mayor. Council members, who are elected to four-year terms, rotate the mayoral position annually.
2019 Mayor Diane Papan remain on Council, along with Councilmembers Rick Bonilla and Amourence Lee.
