Small Fire In San Mateo Closes El Camino Lanes, Delays Caltrain
The public was asked to avoid the area near El Camino Real and 41st Avenue in San Mateo on Friday afternoon.

SAN MATEO, CA — A small fire near the area of El Camino Real and 41st Avenue in San Mateo closed northbound lanes on El Camino on Friday afternoon, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
The fire appeared to be right next to a Caltrain railroad track, and trains were being held due to the fire, the agency tweeted. The two trains that were delayed departed around 20 minutes late, according to Caltrain.
Police warned the public to stay out of the area. They did not provide additional details.

Video posted to the Citizen App on Friday appeared to show a shed and a vehicle on fire, with fire trucks on scene.
