Downed Power Line Prompts San Mateo Closure
After an hours-long shutdown, traffic on South Humboldt St. was reopened Monday evening after PG&E replaced a downed pole.
SAN MATEO, CA — Northbound traffic was blocked for several hours Monday evening on South Humboldt St. between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue following a downed power line.
A downed pole, which fell in the vicinity of 245 South Humboldt St., caused one home to lose power, a PG&E representative said. Police had previously blocked both lanes of traffic, before reopening the southbound lane and then the northbound lane late Monday evening.
Northbound traffic had remained closed into the evening as PG&E staff on the scene worked to set up a new pole, which ended up lying in the northbound lane.
