'Yes on Prop 16' uses billionaire privilege to spread lies!

The 'YES on Prop. 16' gets 10M dollars from a few billionaires. All they do is to play woman card, POC card, BLM card and use rich people's privilege to spread lies, lies and lies!

Here is a list of 'Yes On Prop. 16' fat lies:

LIE: We fight for equal opportunity for POC

Fact: They demand equal OUTCOMES in the name of equal OPPORTUNITY. Under Prop 209, everyone is treated equally regardless of age, gender, race, national origin. Prop 209 is ALL about equal opportunity.

LIE: We fight for equal opportunity for all
Fact: They demand preferential treatment for some.

LIE: The share of POC enrolled in UC has declined by 12pct since Prop 209 was passed in 1996
Fact: Data on the UC official website clearly show the % of total enrollee for Hispanic American has doubled while the share for Black American has remained the same.

LIE: Women earn 80c for every 100c men earn. The gap for POC is even worse
Fact: Strict state and federal laws prohibit discriminatory pay against women for same jobs with same qualifications. However Due to mother nature of women, women are more likely to choose less stressful jobs or jobs with flexible working hours. Nature of childbearing may drag women a bit in career on average. There is no systematic discrimination against women in CA. Women outperform men in UC/CSU, law, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, accounting etc.

LIE: Prop 209 is racism. We need to right the wrong
Fact: Prop 209 treats everyone same while Prop 16 legalizes racial discrimination in admission to UC and CSU, civil jobs, gov. contracting. Prop 16 wrongs the right.

LIE: Prop 16 helps POC
Fact: Prop 16 brings CA back to pre-1996 when graduation rates for POC students were much lower.

LIE: Prop 16 will NOT cut Asians in UC drastically due to federal law which only allows race to be narrowly tailored.
Fact: Studies show Asian enrollment in top US colleges would be 25pct higher in race neutral admission policy. Prop 16 removes race neutrality in UC.

LIE: 41 other States in US do not have Prop 209 clauses
Fact: True. However all complaints from Prop 16 supporters also exist in those 41 states. CA is the most diverse state.

LIE: Prop 16 closes racial and gender gap and reduces social disparity
Fact: We need to pull everyone up by investing more in fundamentals. Prop 16 creates a lot more problems than solutions and averages all down.

LIE: Prop 209 bans Affirmative Action(AA) in CA
Fact: Prop 209 does not ban AA and AA is always there. UC proudly reports ever increasing enrollment from economically disadvantaged group.

LIE: Colleges and universities CANNOT and WILL NOT use racial quotas to fill their classes and achieve diversity
Fact: True. Strict racial quota is unconstitutional. But UC could do anything above strict racial quota with Prop 16.

LIE: California is not taking part in a nationwide boom among women business owners.
Fact: Amex report shows during 2014-2019, woman-owned business increases by 21pct nationwide while woman owned business in LA county increases by 22pct.

LIE: We must consider race in order to rectify issues of poverty
Fact: Poverty exists across all racial groups in California. Prop 209 allows economic-based affirmative action. Improving K-12 and bringing back out-sourced jobs are key to tackle poverty.

LIE: Prop 209 is bad even for Asians because Asian admission rate to UC has declined since Prop 209 was passed In 1996
Fact: UC data show admission rates have declined, nearly proportionally, for all racial groups over past 20 yrs due to CA population growth, state budget cut to UC and sharp increase of non-California students. Prop 209 is NOT to blame for admission rate decline. Prop 16 won’t solve this problem either.

LIE: Prop 16 opponents are racist and do not want to help underserved communities
Fact: Prop 16 opponents want to keep racial discrimination illegal and solve social disparity from root. Public-Private partnerships are needed to invest a lot more on underserved communities for better housing, better K-12 so that all start strongly for generations to come. Prop 16 opponents stand ready to help solving this root problem.
