The victims who died in a 28-car crash Thursday were identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's office Monday.

GOLDEN, CO – The Jefferson County Coroner's office released the names of four people who died in an April 25 fiery crash on I-70 that involved 28 vehicles.

The names of the victims were William Bailey, 67, of Arvada; Doyle Harrison, 61, of Hudson; Miguel Angel Lamas Arellano, 24, of Denver; and Stanley Politano, 69, of Arvada, the coroner's office said. The exact causes of death were not announced, the office said in a press release. That information will be available later.

Texas truck driver Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos, 23, of Houston, was arrested after the crash and faces charges of vehicular homicide in the accident after his eastbound flatbed truck carrying lumber struck a line of vehicles at the Denver West exit stopped for another accident.

Aguilera-Mederos told police his brakes failed as he traveled at 85 miles-per-hour down the mountains on I-70, an arrest affidavit said. He told police he didn't drive off the highway because he didn't want his truck to roll. Gasoline from damaged cars ignited with spilled lumber and caused a conflagration that closed the highway for two days and damaged the roadway.

Six other people, including Aguilera-Mederos, were taken to hospitals with injuries.
