• SUV driver in bus crash possibly facing homicide charge (fox21news.com) — Lakewood police say the SUV driver in a high-speed crash with a Central High School wrestling team bus may now face vehicular homicide charges after his passenger died. The collision at Kipling Parkway and West Sixth Avenue injured numerous bus occupants, with several still hospitalized. Investigators believe excessive speed played a major role as they work with prosecutors on additional counts.

• Affidavit: 83-year-old woman was strangled to death in Lakewood burglary; suspect arrested (denver7.com) — Lakewood police have arrested a suspect in the killing of 83-year-old Elizabeth Johnson after an alleged burglary and attempted arson at her S. Kendall Street home. Newly released court documents describe DNA evidence from a burned glove, signs of ransacking, and an apparent attempt to steal her car. The suspect, recently paroled from prior burglary sentences, is being held without bond and appears in court Wednesday.
   

• Woman faces multiple allegations of financial crimes 14 years after she faked her cancer diagnosis (9news.com) — Lakewood residents are learning that Ann Crall, whose fake cancer fundraiser once rattled the Lakewood Police Department where her husband worked, now faces several new fraud-related charges in Jefferson and Prowers counties. Prosecutors allege she used forged documents, bad checks, and false identities to obtain vehicles, housing, and insurance payouts, and a legal analyst warns her prior record could mean lengthy prison time if convicted.
