Black Bear Spotted In Brookfield: Report

BROOKFIELD, CT — A black bear was seen wondering through the woods in Brookfield on Sunday morning near the Hillside Circle home of Zbynek Stupka, reports the Danbury News-Times.

In the past year, more than 50 bear sightings have been reported in Brookfield, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. More than 6,500 such sightings have been reported throughout Connecticut during the same period.

CT DEEP warns residents to avoid approaching and/or feeding bears, and avoid leaving food outside of your home.
