Brookfield Restaurant Closed Following Kitchen Fire

JJ Stacks burger restaurant will be closed until further notice, following a kitchen fire.

BROOKFIELD, CT — JJ Stacks burger restaurant will be closed until further notice, following a kitchen fire there Monday.

Members of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the restaurant on 537 Federal Road for at 11:40 a.m.

First responders found a visible fire in the kitchen and smoke from the exhaust pipe atop the building.

Crews manually activated the fire suppression system over the range and used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the blaze, according to fire officials. Firefighters also climbed to the roof and found no evidence that the fire had traveled there.

No injuries were reported. The BVFC was on the scene for 45 minutes, and no injuries were reported.

JJ Stacks posted an update to its Facebook page, noting, "We are doing everything we can to be reopen by Thursday AM."

The fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal’s office.
