Brookfield Firefighters Respond For Swimmer In Distress
Brookfield fire companies were dispatched for the report of the swimmer in danger between the Candlewood Shores and Pine Island.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters came to the aid of a swimmer in distress on Wednesday afternoon.
Both Brookfield fire companies were dispatched at 2:13 for the report of the swimmer in danger between the Candlewood Shores and Pine Island.
Candlewood Company's Marine 25 responded to the area with a crew of five, including a Brookfield Paramedic.

"Thankfully, the people still on-board the boat were able to help the swimmer from the water," Candlewood Company officials posted to social media.
All firefighters returned to their stations shortly after Marine 25 made contact with the vessel and victim and ensured that the swimmer did not need medical attention.
