Brookfield First Selectman Takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Tinsley gets doused and extends the challenge to four more Brookfield officials.

The viral ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is making its way around the internet and through Brookfield, as First Selectman Bill Tinsley meets the dare puts the onus on four more local officials.
The challenge — which began 2 years ago as a means of honoring Boston College athlete Peter Frates and raising awareness about the incurable disease — asks participants to dump a bucket of ice water on their heads within 24 hours of being issued or donate $100 to an ALS charity.
“I’ve made up a few of my own rules as I go along,” Tinsley said, agreeing to take the ice bucket challenge and make the donation. He encouraged those he challenged to do both, as well
Tinsley was nominated by Tanya Luciano Woods along with Matt Grimes and Greg Woods. In turn, the First Selectman nominated fellow Board of Selectmen member Marty Flynn, as well as former Selectman George Walker, Board of Finance Chair Phillip Kurtz and Acting Superintendent Dr. Genie Slone
So far, Republican candidate for governor Tom Foley has taken the challenge and extended it to Gov. Dannel Malloy, who also accepted.
