Brookfield Library To Present Program On 'Burning Man' Festival

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Library will present "The Burning Man Festival: A Cultural Curiosity," on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m.

Burning Man is a week-long annual arts festival in Northern Nevada that cultivates radical self-expression. Each year a temporary city of 50,000+ is erected and then taken down, leaving no trace. Held in the Black Rock Desert since 1991, the festival has attracted the attention and curiosity of the world. Matthew Mercure, photographer and author who has attended the festival twice, will speak about this unique event that draws people from all walks of life. His presentation includes a slideshow and personal and historical anecdotes.
