Brookfield Library Presenting Work Of Connecticut Abstract Artist

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Library Art Gallery Committee has selected Heide Follin as their featured artist for July and August. The Connecticut-based artist creates abstract paintings of natural phenomena.

"I create lyrical, imaginary worlds by coupling vibrant and neutral palettes. Using inventive layering and mark making with paint, I interpret my emotions and experiences with nature," said Follin.

The exhibit can be viewed in-person at the Brookfield Library Art Gallery from July 1 to August 31. The gallery, located in the library's community room, is open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m and on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. No reservation is required. The exhibit as well as additional work is also being exhibited virtually on Brookfield Library’s website starting July 1.

Area artists are invited to submit samples of their work either in person at the library or on the library’s website. The Brookfield Library Art Gallery Committee will review all submissions and will contact those selected to schedule exhibits. Library patrons will be able to see each exhibit virtually and in-person in Brookfield Library’s community room. Check the library’s website for information on when the Art Gallery is open.

The Art Gallery space has been made possible by the support of The Friends of the Brookfield Library. The mission of this nonprofit organization is to support the Library through fundraising, including the annual July book sale, the Friends’ primary fundraising event.
