BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Library will be presenting the virtual art show "Portraits of Joy" featuring the works of Roxbury artist Katie Ré Scheidt. The show will be available online here from June 1-30
Scheidt is an abstract expressionist artist whose "sophisticated use of color and uninhibited brushwork contribute to her lyrical and uplifting body of work," according to a news release from the library.
Before life as an artist, Scheidt worked on Wall Street for 12 years. In 2010, she moved to Litchfield County with her husband where they raise their two children. Scheidt paints in her studio, "The Fauve Barn" and has painted commissions over the past six years, focusing on custom abstracts as well as portraiture and nudes. Her work can be found in private collections throughout the world.
