Brookfield Marine EMTs Rescue Man by Shore of Green Island
The EMTs from Marine 25 found the patient still in the water near the shore of Green Island.
BROOKFIELD, CT —Candlewood Company's new marine craft got a workout today in a rescue near Green Island.
"Candlewood Company’s Marine 25 was requested by the town of New Milford for a patient with a broken leg," the firefighters reported on social media. The call came in around 2:45 p.m., and Marine 25 was dispatched with a crew of six, three boat crew members, one paramedic, and two boat-trained EMTs from Candlewood Company.
The EMTs from Marine 25 found the patient still in the water near the shore of Green Island, being tended by two off-duty EMTs. Candlewood Company personnel entered the water and began patient care as Marine 25 maneuvered to extricate the patient from the water, according to the fire company.

The patient was removed from the water and brought back to the Candlewood shores boat launch, transferred to the awaiting Brookfield Ambulance, and transported to Danbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
