The Brookfield Police reported that emergency and utility crews worked from the onset of the storm until approximately 3 a.m. They are collaborating with Eversource CT, Brookfield Public Works and emergency crews to clear paths for emergency vehicles and to gain an overall view of the extent of the damages. In some of the harder hit areas of Brookfield, ATV/UTV is the only way to get around.
Once life safety has been secured, opening roads will be the priority, police said on their Facebook page. They are also in the process of opening a shelter for town showering and electricity.
