Brookfield: Over 3,000 Still Without Power

BROOKFIELD, CT --- Eversource is now reporting that power in their hardest hit coverage areas will be restored by late Monday night.

The hardest hit areas in Brookield have been identified as:

• Baldwin Hill - 25 poles to be replaced.
• Candlewood Lake Road - 167 separate damage locations.

There are more than one thousand people assigned to power restoration and they are concentrated in Brookfield and the neighboring towns of Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, Oxford, and Southbury, the utility said in a release.

The remaining outage area requires extensive tree removal, the installation of all new poles and replacement equipment like transformers and fuses, in addition to the complete replacement of thousands of feet of electric wire, Eversource says.
