Brookfield Police Find Woman Parked in Road, Unconscious with Children in Car

Brookfield woman charged with DUI and three counts of risk of injury to minors.

A Brookfield woman was arrested Sunday night after parking her car in the middle of the road and passing out with three children in the back seat.

Emily Wild, 45, of Arapaho Road, Brookfield, was found slumped over the wheel of her idling BMW, parked in the middle of Signal Hill Road near the intersection with Long Meadow Hill Road just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Three children — ages 12, 9 and 3 — were found in the back seat.

Officers were able to wake the unconscious Wild, who failed several field sobriety tests. The Department of Children and Families was notified and Wild was taken into custody on charges of operating under the influence and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

She was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 4 and taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment.
