BROOKFIELD, CT — Carlos Pascoa, 63, of Monchique, Portugal, passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 in Portimão, Portugal with loved ones by his side.
Funeral services were held in Portimão, Portugal on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, with burial followed at Cemitério Municipal de Monchique.
Carlos was born in Monchique, Portugal to Mario and the late Maria da Piadade Matias on June 7, 1956. As a teenager, he moved to the United States with his father and older sister, Luisa. Carlos married Paula Venuti on June 23, 1984 in New York, where they lived and ran their own business,
Bread Winner.

In October of 1990, the Pascoa family moved to Brookfield where Carlos worked diligently to support people with traumatic brain injuries for nearly 20 years. Carlos and Paula had three children together and separated in 2013; two years later Carlos met his girlfriend, Grace. In 2018, Carlos and his girlfriend moved to Portugal, where he was able to be near his family and the beach.
Forever the life of the party, Carlos made many friends which he held most dear to his heart. As a talented teenage soccer player, Carlos went on to skillfully coach soccer for his children. Carlos was a gifted home chef who loved classic rock, soccer, football and a good laugh. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, the beach and being outdoors with his canine companions including Astro and Polo.

A kid at heart, Carlos loved the holidays. We will never forget the Halloween hay rides with dear friends and neighbors. Always there to lend a compassionate and caring hand, Carlos will be remembered for his joy and love of life.
Carlos is survived by his three children, Lauren, Manny, and Arianna, and grandson Jayden, along with his father, Mario, sister, Luisa, and her three children, Octavio, Carlos, and Ricky. Carlos is preceded in death by his mother, Maria da Piadade Matias, with whom he has joined in heaven.
A celebration of Carlos' life will be held on Feb. 1 from 1-3 p.m. in Crocker Hall at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 174 Whisconier Road, in Brookfield.
Donations can be made in Carlos’ name to the national nonprofit Shatterproof, which supports programs to help end addiction.
