Change in Plans: New Closing Date Announced for Route 133 Bridge
The span that connects Brookfield and Bridgewater will be closing a week later than originally scheduled
BROOKFIELD, CT — The closure date for the Route 133 bridge has been changed.
The state Department of Transportation has announced that the Route 133 bridge, connecting Brookfield and Bridgewater, will be closed and detoured beginning Friday, June 28 at 10:00 p.m. The bridge will reopen at 5 a.m. on July 1. Detours will be in place utilizing Route 67, 7/202 and 25.
The original plan called for the bridge to be closed one weekend earlier.

Effective immediately, constructions crews have been authorized to utilize 10-minute full closures, during the daytime hours of 09:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., through June 28.
The Brookfield Police Department is encouraging residents and travelers to begin planning for this now and know their alternate route ahead of time.
