UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed in Brookfield Crash
A paving company was off-loading a piece of equipment from a trailer on Whisconier Road in the southbound lane when the accident occurred.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 25 in Brookfield.
The Brookfield police received a 911 call at approximately 9:17 a.m. Friday reporting a motor vehicle accicent involving a pedestrian in the area of 230 Whisconier Road and Route 25. A paving company was off-loading a piece of equipment from a trailer on Whisconier Road in the southbound lane when the accident occurred.
Linda Pendergast of Brookfield was traveling south on Route 25 in the area of Fairview Road when she moved into the northbound lane to avoid the trailer. When she did, she struck Harold Trafton, 58, who had been assisting with the off-load, police said in a release.

Trafton was transported to Danbury Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
