Foundation Rx Adds Vitamins to the Mix in Brookfield's Downtown

BROOKFIELD, CT -- Nutrition has become big business in the U.S., and at least one new local retailer hopes the trend will continue and carry into Brookfield.

Foundation Rx, a vitamins and healthy supplements store, has opened at 540 Federal Road at the new plaza, near the new Oak Meadows townhouse development.

Mike Aurisicchio, who works at both the new Brookfield site and the business's more well-established location in Carmel, NY, thinks that a "healthy living" franchise is a good fit for the town.

"There's a lot of people who are into vitamin supplements and having a healthy lifestyle here," he told the Patch.

Aurisicchio, who lives in New York City, says he got a membership at a local gym and has been impressed by the attention to fitness Brookfield residents exhibit. The store has been demo'ing its products at gyms throughout the area.
