Opening Day Looms for Brookfield High School Teams

BROOKFIELD, CT — High school sports practices have been ongoing for nearly two weeks and preseason scrimmages are in full swing, but the real deal begins Thursday - opening day of the regular season for many varsity teams.

Here are the scheduled opening contests for varsity teams at Brookfield High School. For a complete season schedule of Bobcat varsity, JV and freshman teams, visit the CIAC web site.

• boys soccer - Thursday, 9/6, at Joel Barlow, 4 p.m.
• girls soccer - Thursday, 9/6, vs. Joel Barlow, 4 p.m.
• girls swimming - Friday, 9/7, vs. Immaculate/Bethel, 5:30 p.m.
• football - Friday, 9/7, at Masuk, 7 p.m.
• girls volleyball - Saturday, 9/8, at CIAC Early Season Tournament, 9 a.m.
• cross country - Saturday, 9/8, at Windham Invitational, 9:30 a.m.
• field hockey - Monday, 9/10, at Thomaston, 3:45 p.m.
