Peter Markle to Speak at Brookfield Museum About His WWII Veteran Father - a Former Brookfield Resident Who Served with the Army Air Corps
On Monday evening October 1, 2018 The Brookfield Historical Society will host a program at 7:30 PM in the Brookfield Museum located at 165 Whisconier Road (Junction of Routes 25 and 133) in Brookfield Center Peter Markle, the son of WWII veteran Gordon Markle, formerly of Brookfield, will recount the military history of his dad during WWII. Gordon, a member of the Army Air Corps served throughout the war with a pursuit fighter group initially in the Middle East and later as a crew chief for P- 40 Warhawks and P47 thunderbolts in North Africa, the Mediterranean and Italy. Peter will share war time and family photos as part of a his power point presentation. Admission is free and following the program complimentary refreshments will be available.
