Update on 5G and our Brookfield Town Government's Position

Dear Brookfield Neighbors,

I and other Brookfield citizens: parents, grandparents, men and women are asking for your help in getting our town government to hold off on the new “5G” telecom equipment until we know it is safe.

We have been asking our town Selectmen to agree to a short term moratorium on the installation of the new telecommunication equipment, and an ordinance that sets restrictions on the placement of the equipment at safe distances from our homes. Our Board of Selectmen agree that we should not have these in Brookfield until we know they are safe, but are unwilling to take effective action to halt it.

Mr. Dunn agreed to write a letter to the Federal Communication Commission, the Federal agency that is supposed to work for our benefit but is fully behind this technology roll out as evidenced by its actions. Two of the three Chairmen of the FCC have work histories with telecommunication companies, I believe.

Ajit Pai, worked for Verizon. Btw, the industry powers that be, has known about the damaging biological effects found by independent scientists, who began studying cell phone and wi-fi radiation's effects soon after cell phones were invented, in the 1990's. Are you surprised that none of the scientific findings have made it to the news media in three decades.

The FCC has created many Federal regulations to limit our freedom of choice about having the 5G equipment installed in our country. Our state government has done the same. Check me out to see if I’m wrong.

I get the feeling that Mr. Dunn is just trying to get rid of me and the others who are asking for him to take action that would have some effect. He objected to spending $3,000 to draft an ordinance. Our right to be heard at our Board of Selectmen meetings has been seriously tampered with and diminished since the lockdown. Our traditional first public comment has been eliminated from the Zoom meetings because it may take too much of the the Board’s time, and then we were refused the right to participate in the zoom meeting at all, except for calling in at the end of the meeting…whenever it happens to end. There are complicated instructions for getting on, and we are given a very short time to call in; last time Mr. Dunn closed the meeting before we could even connect.

if you agree that we should be informed by our government about what is going on in our town, and have a say in our towns actions. Request that he arrange a well publicized town meeting on zoom, this month.

Let Mr. Dunn know if you are for a moratorium and an updated telecom ordinance to protect us from such extreme proximity to cellular equipment emitting signals 24 hours a day.

This new telecommunication equipment is being installed in many cities in Connecticut and it is moving up through towns like Ridgefield, up from the Sound in our direction. I predict many of installations of this equipment will be coming soon to Brookfield.

So you should not be surprised if you receive letter sometime in the next couple of months, from AT&T or a similar telecom corporation, stating that a ‘5G capable’ transmitter and antenna are going to be placed on the telephone pole in front of your house. Since they will be approximately 2 to 10 homes apart, thousands of us will be affected, and we will be notified, not asked. The placement has already been decided at the state level. That’s how it works.

Not only is our safety at risk, but our right to choose, has been commandeered, starting at the Federal level down to our own local government.

If you are even on the fence about their safety, you might become concerned about having a transmitter near your home. If you call Town Hall, you most likely will be referred to a special state agency, that has been created to bypass local town and city governments, to inquire or object. You will probably get the same answer as a Danbury homeowner did, a single-dad, working full time plus some, when he was notified that one would be just feet from his house.

The state will give you the option to fight this decision, (if you have objected within the 30 or 60 days they allow), and you will have to appear at a ‘hearing’ for which you will be given about 36 pages of instructions on what you need to do to make your case. If they have not changed their letter by now, the letter would inform you that you do not need to bring a lawyer. You will be told, or at least our Danbury friend was told, the he cannot use health as a reason to object. Meanwhile, he told me, the small cell has a warning on it to keep at least a foot away from the pole. Our local governments have been told the same insanity about health not being allowed to be considered as a legitimate objection. And indeed they are towing the line. I have gone to at least 12 Brookfield Board of Selectmen meetings in the past 1 1/2 years to try to educate them about the science, and I could tell you a lot about what has gone on. I have given them credible information for many months in person and by many emails, from credible sources such as the actual science articles in journals and from non -profit environment websites. I do not believe that they have done their due diligence in addressing this issue. I may start a blog with the whole story.

This plan for installations has been decided by the industry and by the state, which are working hand in hand. All well and good for those of us who are anxious to enter the world of virtual reality, higher speed, refrigerators that talk to our phones and digital diapers to let us know they are wet; but not for those of us who are not convinced that it is safe to have those transmitters so close to our homes and bedroom windows. Do we want to have ourselves and our children exposed to the waves emitted from those devices 24 hours a day even if we don’t choose to pull it into our home with new routers? Increasingly, many people are in fact learning that exposure to wireless electricity is definitely not safe.

Small cells will emit more or less the same type of electricity as a cell tower, and later on, be increased to faster frequencies in the microwave range. The man made electricity is pulsed and modulated, unnatural and harmful to our bodies as it flows through us. Since this new technology will be using higher frequency and shorter waves, the industry must build them in a dense network of ‘small cells’ instead of a huge tower.…and therefore must place the units close to homes and each other.

We have asked our government for an open zoom town meeting for anyone to come and hear both sides of the story. We get a pat answer to our request for protection by a good ordinance from our town Selectman, stating that final decision have been made, to just write a letter to the FCC and our Senator and Congresswoman. His decision is based on two town employees presentations, our Town Health Department, ie Dr. Sullivan, and a physicist whose primary work history has been in building nuclear plants. I can say more about these so called ‘experts’ but I’ll save that for my blog if necessary. Mr. Dunn will not make a move to protect us. I thought our welfare and safety was suppose to be his primary responsibility.

By the way, the Town of Easton has done just what we are asking for..to keep their town environment free of this electronic pollution. Doubt my use of the work pollution? There is no insurance company that will insure the telecoms for liability. Who knows more than the insurance companies about risk?

How do I support my opinion? One thing is that I know this invisible current exists because I can hear and measure the amount of electricity the flows to and from my wireless devices with a meter. They are available on Amazon.

I can make choices between my convenience and health and safety, if I know what I am dealing with.

We know wireless electricity flows invisibly thorough our walls and we know that we are good conductors of electricity. We absorb these waves as they flow through our bodies. We don’t stare at the sun, or enjoy its warm comfort for too long..or we will get burned. It is healthy but there is such a thing as ‘too much.’

Microwaves are billions of times faster than our brain waves and other precise systems that operate in our bodies, like heart rate, body temperature and hormones. These faster waves disrupt and damage living cells. Wireless radiation is an environmental pollutant. There are three decades of independently funded scientific research proving that many of these wavelengths are biologically damaging…they do destruction on a cellular level, gradually leading to changes in our bodies. Our human ‘operating system’ is an amazing machine running on its own electricity. We benefit from the natural radiation of the earth and the sun; man-made electricity, however, is pulsed and modulated for the purpose of wireless communication is not compatible with the functions of our bodies. Cell phone radiation was found to cause DNA damage to cells as far back as the 1990s. Damaging effects in human male sperm was also proven by science. There are many, many sound studies on the many damaging effects this electricity has on us.

So, getting back on point, the reason we think 5 Gee radiation would likely be harmful, is because we know that the lower frequencies like those emitted by cell phones and wi-fi are harmful. We also have some current research on 60 Gigahertz (GHz) waves (microwaves allowed in 5G transmitters) and damage to human biological tissues, done in 2019.. Microwaves, (billions of waves per second), were even found to be harmful by government classified research done for our military as far back as 50 years ago. Neither humans nor microwaves have changed much in 50 years. There were affects on skin and eyes and eventually a rise body temperature that did not recover.

There exists an international diagnosis of radiation sickness. Many of the symptoms such as vice-like headaches, noises in the head, extreme fatigue and others were experienced by many of the Swiss population about a year ago when this same equipment was turned up to the high speeds promised by Five G. The people protested to their government and had installations stopped.
