1 Student Case Reported At Ferrara School Has Quarantined 28

EAST HAVEN, CT — At 187 COVID-19 cases reported since the beginning of the school year, watching the school district's case tracker update in real time showed what happens when one person tests positive — an entire class goes into quarantine.

The East Haven Public Schools COVID-19 tracker, with data from late Wednesday, showed no cases at Ferrara Elementary School since Monday. And, there were just 7 total students in quarantine across the entire district.

Then, when the tracker was updated at around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, there was one new student case reported at the school, and the quarantine column went from 7 to 35, as 28 Ferrara school students and/or staff are now in quarantine and doing remote learning.
