7-Year-Old East Haven Boy Holds Drive To Help Animal Shelter
Connor, a second-grader at Momauguin School, wants to make sure that animals in the shelter have the food and supplies they need.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Seven-year-old Connor was speaking with his grandmother Mary Correia about food drives and wondered if there are pet food drives as he worried about dogs in the animal shelter not having enough to eat.
She explained that yes, people do donate to animal shelters but thought he had a very good idea and encouraged and supported it.
Connor was committed to make sure the animals at the East Haven Animal Shelter had all they needed and his pet food drive was on.

Correia told Patch that her grandson — “ a very good boy” — has already collected so much for the shelter, and not just food but pet toys, pet treats, cleaning supplies, and even cash, that her living room is stuffed.

Correia said she purchased a dog costume that one of the family will wear to welcome folks who drive by with donations.
And, for folks who make a donation, their name will go into a raffle for a wreath she’s created.
A little bird told Patch that East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora and East Haven’s assistant animal control officer Sean Godejohn will also drop by to meet Connor Saturday, so check back with Patch for photos from Connor’s Saturday drive.
