9 Public Works Staff Quarantined After Positive Coronavirus Cases
One East Haven public works employee tested positive, with another believed to be infected as well. In total, 9 workers are in quarantine.

EAST HAVEN, CT — With one town public works employee testing positive for COVID-19 and another believed to have been infected as a result, health officials now believe that a total of 9 employees have been "impacted" and are in quarantine and were told to get tested for the coronavirus.
According to a statement sent via email to Patch from Mayor Joseph A. Carfora, both East Shore District Heath and the town's emergency management director are "urgently evaluating the situation."
"Like our many neighboring communities, we work diligently every day to keep our workforce and all the members of our community safe," Carfora said. "We have for some time arranged our DPW crew into small groups in an effort to limit the impact of a potential COVID-positive diagnosis."
