Blizzard Warning Dropped To A Winter Storm Warning In East Haven

EAST HAVEN, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for East Haven on Tuesday. A previous Blizzard Warning has been cancelled as snow is expected to turn to sleet this morning and afternoon, which will limit snow accumulation.

East Haven could see between 4 and 14 inches of snow and sleet before ending back as snow, the weather service states. Quite a range for sure. The precipitation is supposed to return from a mix to all snow this evening. Gov. Areas of blowing snow after 5pm. High near 34. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Windy, with a northeast wind 21 to 31 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow and sleet likely before 9pm, then a chance of snow between 9pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Blustery, with a west wind 15 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: Scattered snow showers, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
