Carfora To Appoint Food Pantry President To Police Commission

EAST HAVEN, CT — Dianne Romans has been called the foundation that supports the East Haven Food Pantry and all its important work feeding East Haven families. Thursday, Mayor Joseph A. Carfora said he's appointing Romans, the food pantry president since 2016, to the East Haven Board of Police Commissioners

Romans, who is registered as unaffiliated, will complete the vacated term of Democrat Mark Conte, which expires on February 1, 2022.

“Diane represents the best of East Haven; a lifelong resident of our town who has committed countless hours to volunteer efforts, including the East Haven Food Pantry,” Carfora said.

The food pantry has been a lifeline long before, and certainly since the pandemic as many more have come to rely on food assistance.

Romans has also held executive positions at the Southern New England Telephone Company, CT Bar & Restaurant Supplies, Tyler Cooper and Alcorn Law Firm, and SBC. She is currently a senior paralegal at AT&T.

“Dianne is an accomplished business professional with diverse experience over her 30-year career,” Carfora said.
