Carfora Talks Taxes, Budget, Fiscal Responsibility & Dinner. That is the byline of an article published by the Joe Carfora for Mayor Campaign in the East Haven Patch this week.
I am astonished by the shamelessness of the candidate and the campaign.
I was present during the East Haven Mayoral Candidates debate. Listen to Mr. Carfora's words during that debate. He said that East Haven residents deserve transparency. He is correct; the residents of East Haven deserve transparency. But he has already proven that he is not transparent. If he were, he would release all documentation proving, as he said in the debate, "that [he is] meeting all of [his] obligations," referring to the hundreds of thousands of dollars he owes in taxes to the IRS and the town of North Haven.
Sadly, I cannot take his word for it.
It is simple for Mr. Carfora to prove that he is meeting his obligations by releasing all documentation that proves as much.
Until that happens, Mr. Carfora is anything but transparent and every word about taxes, budget and fiscal responsibility is a slap in the face of every East Haven resident.
