Many of you may know the story of The Ugly Duckling" (Danish: Den grimme ælling) is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). The story tells of a homely little bird born in a barnyard who suffers abuse from the others around him until, much to his delight (and to the surprise of others), he matures into a beautiful swan, the most beautiful bird of all.
Joe Carfora is that ugly duckling, he has suffered the abuse of the Republican leadership enough. Surely of those who live in glass houses as well. Those that would have you believe their candidate is the better choice in this upcoming election. Those that would have you believe they are Talent on Loan from God! I think they should answer a few questions for the residents! Where were you Bob Parente when Joe Maturo was shaming this town and costing us millions in legal fees? Namely 175 thousand dollar settlement he gave in return for not being found innocent? Where were you when he made ethnic slurs to the disgrace of the town of East Haven, AROUND THE COUNTRY. Did you ask for him to come out publicly to answer those issues? Did you tell him he owed the tax payers an answer? Did you ask him to answer why the tax payers should have to pay for his indiscretions? As party lead you should have led by example, but No, you remained silent. Did not care about their wellbeing then did you? How about when he shamelessly had you shovel the Mayors parking lot because he was in a rage? Or how you have been fired more than Billy Martin by him. You would have others believe "That's just Joe" But suddenly you have grown wings and a halo and float in the clouds. Better yet, where was your candidate Steve Tracey when all this happened? Funny both of you had the ability to steer your party clear of this disgrace and defend the residents but did not. When faced at a Town Council meeting by those same residents you did not want the public to speak, went into private session! Why? Oh Jobs? I get it now. Its election year and you might really be fired. And as for Steve? He still has not answered the residents over the little Red Corvette deal? Or how he did not even defend his own district when it comes to shaky land sales. Curious also, did either you or he ask John Finkle board of education member to step down during all his wrongdoing? Ask him to prove his innocence to the residents. I don't recall that either. Did you ask him to prove his innocence publicly? Ask for the proof he did not do it? Tell him he owed an answer to the residents of this town? No you did not.
Yes, when faced in life with the road ahead, our tendency is to take the road less traveled, the easiest route. I would prefer to take the one that has been broken in, traveled, drink the wine that has been aged to perfection, take that road that takes me to my destination with the promise of a new on ramp to my future. I will take an ugly duckling any day, over a stinking skunk.
My East Haven friends, when Bob Parente leader of the Republican party and Steve Tracey candidate for mayor, confront Joe Carfora, they really confront all of us. We are blue collar hard working Joe's in East Haven. None of us living in luxury, stepping over others to get what we want? pretending we are the gifts to the town and the world. These positions are voted in at the goodness of the tax payers and not a promise. Nobody gets anything easy in life, we work hard and pay our dues. Sometimes we struggle so hard we get hit with everything life has to offer all at once. My friends, that is what Joe Carfora has been through, he understands that pain and struggle. Why? because he has been there. Not handed anything, worked hard and struggled just like all of us. But in the end those that struggle come out the strongest and most of all know they can look themselves in the mirror and know they did what was right.
Our future in East Haven takes us forward not backwards. Leads us to new promise, not old rhetoric. Take those cobwebs of fake media in the form of fake tax hikes and scare tactics that Bob Parente and Steve Tracey are spinning and save them for Halloween, for they are the ones wearing the mask. Let's move on to that Christmas morning then, on to 2020 and a New Year and new day one that leads us to a brighter future, one we can all be proud of one that we all work hard for and deserve. Joe Carfora will take care of the residents like they are family. He is a good man with a good vision and plan for this town.
Vote for Joe Carfora and Row A.
