Bad Apples, a funk band started in 2006 by three childhood friendsfrom East Haven, Connecticut, todayreleased a brand-new live album on titled Loud &Outnumbered in New Haven.

Recorded in December 2009, Loud & Outnumbered in NewHaven features the band at its peak, complete with a 5-piece horn section and driving, in-your-face funk.

Bad Apples actively toured from 2007-2010 as a 3-piece band made up of
Robert Felsted, Jr. (bass, vocals), Dave Witter (drums, vocals) and James
Albis (keyboards, saxophone, vocals). Based on the east coast, the band played
hundreds of live shows throughout Connecticut, New York, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, and across the country supporting acts like Blind Melon,
Bill Kreutzman, Otiel Burbridge, Tony Orlando, The Breakfast, and others.

Bad Apples recorded two studio albums of original music, Home (2007) and Today Begins at Night (2009).

Loud & Outnumbered in New Haven highlights the band’s catchy and clever songwriting,
tight arrangements, and musical prowess on stage. The rhythm section (Felsted,
Witter, and Albis) is locked in and the horn section rips, while the smooth vocals round out
17-track, 99-minute barrage of funk. Particular standouts are “New Age Prophecy” and “Lucky Day,” with the vocals and horns playing off each other to create an unparalleled energy between the band members.

Also featured on Loud & Outnumbered are covers of some of the band’s musical inspirations, including Steely Dan’s “Show Biz Kids” and War’s “The World is a Ghetto.” The Bad Apples pay homage to the originals but make the songs their own.

Though the band hasn’t played together since 2010, Felsted, Witter, and Albis remain friends and worked together on this release after the recording was found in the session archives of bassist and recording engineer Felsted in 2020, more than 10 years after the recording was
made. All of the songs on Loud & Outnumbered were originally recorded during one live performance on December 27, 2009.
