Debate Part III

About "Chicken Hawks"

As the November 5 election draws near, one could sense the heightening need some individuals now crave, and that is seeing their names published in print, which reminds me of an era, when “chicken-hawks” tried to make a name for themselves and appear relevant through, well, to put it simply, deceitful advertisement.

About their false-bravery and intuitive expertise in matters of war, which they personally would rather not put themselves at risk doing, but would always be willing to send others to fight and die for them, while screaming loudly for attention about why we should listen…..to them.

Yes, some of us candidates are not “perfectly” suited for the position we may be aspiring but the way I see it, if we are that absolutely certain that we can do better, then why didn’t we do it? Run for that office that is, instead of being pretenders.

Putting ourselves where our mouth is, is one way to show courage of conviction but I understand that that could be too exhaustively daring.

In as much as a debate among the 3 of us mayoral candidates would be helpful; there is still the matter of purpose and intent from the audience’s perspective as I see it

That is to say will they come to watch us perform or to listen?

I think life as we’ve lived it has if anything taught us that nothing in this world is simple, except to a simple mind that is.

And yes, I look forward to “debating?” whoever, but this much I think about political debates.

They are more about entertainment than educational, given the time limit.

Many in the Republican Party voted for Mr. Tracey in the primary and out of respect for them if nothing else should make us pause and consider that. I now have.

All that said, election to my mind is about the future. NOT ours, but those we would leave behind and because time waits for no one, the importance of a thoughtful decision in this up- coming election becomes ever more critical.

If we truly care and I think we do, then I think, we must think, before we do.
