East Haven Coronavirus Update: 223 Cases, 29 Deaths
East Haven released a coronavirus update with new numbers and more information about what the public is doing to slow the spread.
EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven has confirmed 223 people who have tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to data release by town officials Tuesday afternoon. The pandemic has caused 29 deaths of East Haven residents.
New Haven County tops the list of Connecticut counties for the number of coronavirus cases, with 1,134 of 19,815 cases.
East Haven's 29 deaths make up for two percent of the state's 1,331 deaths, and the town's 223 cases make up one percent of the state's cases.

The town reminded residents of Gov. Ned Lamont's executive order requiring face coverings in public, as well as the presidential primary being postponed to Aug. 11.

The East Haven Fire Department delivered 500 masks each to Whispering Pines and Apple Rehab in the effort to slow the spread of the virus at the assisted living facilities.
